Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for product lead roles?
The most active sponsors for product lead positions in Kansas include Garmin, headquartered in Olathe, and Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in Kansas City, both of which have consistent H-1B filing histories for senior product roles. C2FO, a global fintech platform based in Leawood, and CBIZ also appear in sponsorship records. Larger enterprise employers with established HR and legal infrastructure are generally more equipped to manage the sponsorship process.
What visa types are most commonly used for product lead roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common path for product leads, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. Candidates already holding L-1B or O-1 status may also transfer to employers in Kansas without needing an H-1B. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role aligns with qualifying USMCA occupation categories.
Which cities in Kansas have the most product lead visa sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, particularly the Kansas-side suburbs of Overland Park, Olathe, and Leawood, accounts for the majority of product lead sponsorship activity in the state. This corridor hosts the largest concentration of tech, fintech, and healthcare IT employers. Wichita has a smaller but present product leadership market, primarily tied to aerospace and manufacturing software companies such as Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation.
How to find product lead visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S., and you can filter directly for product lead roles in Kansas to see employers with active sponsorship histories. Because product lead is a senior-level role, searching for both 'product lead' and related titles like 'senior product manager' on Migrate Mate can broaden your results. Focusing on employers in the Kansas City tech corridor will give you the highest density of sponsoring companies.
Are there any state-specific considerations for product leads pursuing sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not impose state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal standards, but prevailing wage compliance under the H-1B Labor Condition Application is determined by the specific metropolitan statistical area. Roles in the Kansas City MSA and the Wichita MSA each have distinct prevailing wage levels set by the Department of Labor. Kansas State University and the University of Kansas produce graduates who create local product talent pipelines, which means some employers in the state are already familiar with OPT and STEM OPT transitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product lead jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
