Which companies sponsor visas for product leads in Ohio?
Several large Ohio-based employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship for product roles. JPMorgan Chase in Columbus, Progressive Insurance in Mayfield Village, Nationwide in Columbus, and Kroger Technology in Cincinnati are among the most active. Healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth also maintain product organizations and have sponsored product leads in the past.
Which visa types are most common for product lead roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product lead positions in Ohio, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. Candidates already holding L-1B specialized knowledge visas through a multinational employer occasionally transfer into product lead roles. O-1A visas are less common but possible for candidates with demonstrable industry recognition.
Which cities in Ohio have the most product lead sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's primary hub for product lead sponsorship, driven by its concentration of fintech, insurance, and retail technology companies. Cincinnati follows closely, with Kroger Technology, Fifth Third Bank, and several mid-size software firms hiring product leads. Cleveland has a growing base in healthcare technology and industrial software, with employers like Cleveland Clinic and Sherwin-Williams maintaining product teams.
How to find product lead visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate lets you filter product lead roles specifically by visa sponsorship availability and state, making it straightforward to identify Ohio employers actively hiring. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly by company size and hiring cycle, using a focused platform like Migrate Mate saves time compared to manually screening general job listings. Setting up alerts for Ohio product lead roles helps you respond quickly when positions open.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for product leads seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's lower cost of living compared to coastal tech markets means prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions may differ from those in San Francisco or New York, which can affect how employers structure compensation packages. Columbus in particular has a growing university pipeline through Ohio State University, which means employers there are more accustomed to sponsoring international candidates entering product roles from graduate programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product lead jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
