Which companies sponsor visas for program associates in Kansas?
Kansas employers known to sponsor work visas for program associate roles include Spirit AeroSystems and other aerospace contractors in Wichita, Cerner (now part of Oracle Health) in the Kansas City metro, and large healthcare systems such as The University of Kansas Health System. Nonprofit organizations and federal contractors operating near Fort Leavenworth and Overland Park also appear in sponsorship records for program coordination positions.
Which visa types are most common for program associate roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for program associate roles in Kansas, provided the position requires a specific bachelor's degree and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3 visa. Those from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN visa status if the role fits an eligible USMCA occupation. Some research-affiliated program associates at Kansas universities work on J-1 visa or OPT authorization.
How to find program associate visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find program associate roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city, including Wichita, Overland Park, and Lawrence, where sponsoring employers are most active. Migrate Mate also surfaces employer sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize outreach toward organizations with a track record of filing petitions for program roles.
Which cities in Kansas have the most program associate sponsorship jobs?
Overland Park and the broader Kansas City metro area on the Kansas side generate the most program associate sponsorship activity, driven by technology firms, healthcare organizations, and corporate headquarters. Wichita is the second major hub, with aerospace and manufacturing companies sponsoring program coordination roles. Lawrence, home to the University of Kansas, produces additional openings in research programs and academic administration that attract international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for program associates pursuing visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not have a state-level visa program, so sponsorship follows federal H-1B and PERM rules entirely. Employers must attest to prevailing wage compliance through a Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor before sponsoring an H-1B. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University serve as notable pipelines, with international graduates on OPT often transitioning into sponsored program associate roles at affiliated research centers, healthcare networks, and regional nonprofits.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program associate jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
