The Fan & Program Development Associate will support the Pittsburgh Steelers’ fan engagement and growth marketing initiatives by developing engaging strategies, programs, and content for targeted audiences. This role focuses on building and maintaining connections through outreach, sourcing compelling fan stories, and supporting fan development efforts to grow the Steelers’ fanbase.
This is a full-time, on-site internship and will report directly to the Growth & Audience Marketing Manager.

- Grow the Steelers bar network by identifying prospective bars and building relationships with owners and managers, keeping our bar listings accurate and up-to-date.
- Own physical fulfillment across programs. Pack and ship Fan Club gifting, fan packs, and grade-band school kits; track inventory; work with vendors on restocks and delivery timelines.
- Act as the go-to contact for college and university partners, from student organizations and Greek Life to campus administrators, in support of campus activations, Student Rush, and Steelers Student Summit.
- Coordinate Student Rush bidding winners for every home game so winners have their tickets, field passes, and gameday details locked in ahead of time.
- Help plan and execute key events such as the annual Student Summit, campus activations, and community engagement events.
- Find and pitch compelling fan stories for key audience and fan groups.
- Handle research and early planning for new initiatives: vetting vendors and venues, gathering quotes, and digging into best practices for our target audiences.
- Assist other Marketing Tracks during key events and initiatives as needed.

Which companies sponsor visas for program associates in Pennsylvania?
In Pennsylvania, visa sponsorship for program associates comes most consistently from large healthcare systems like Penn Medicine and UPMC, research universities such as the University of Pennsylvania and Carnegie Mellon University, and nonprofit organizations managing federally funded programs. Government contractors and public health agencies operating in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh also have established sponsorship track records for program-level roles.
Which visa types are most common for program associate roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for program associate roles in Pennsylvania, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Employers at accredited universities and nonprofit research organizations may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B filers, which allows year-round petitioning outside the annual lottery. The J-1 visa exchange visitor category also appears in university and research-affiliated program roles.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most program associate sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia is the clear center of program associate sponsorship activity in Pennsylvania, driven by its concentration of universities, hospital networks, and nonprofit institutions. Pittsburgh follows, supported by Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and a growing technology and policy research sector. Smaller but notable hiring activity also appears in State College, home to Penn State's main campus and affiliated research programs.
How to find program associate visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for program associate roles in Pennsylvania without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, or other Pennsylvania cities. This is particularly useful for program associate positions where sponsorship eligibility varies significantly by employer type and funding source.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for program associates seeking visa sponsorship?
Pennsylvania's heavy concentration of nonprofit, academic, and healthcare employers is relevant for international candidates because these institution types often qualify as H-1B cap-exempt employers, reducing lottery risk. The state's federally funded research programs, particularly those tied to NIH grants and public health initiatives in Philadelphia, also tend to have established HR processes for international hires. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide, and the specific wage level depends on the employer's location and the role's defined duties.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program associate jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
