Which companies sponsor visas for program associates in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers with documented histories of sponsoring program associates include Mass General Brigham, Harvard University, MIT, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Partners in Health, and various state-level public health agencies. Nonprofits and research hospitals in the Greater Boston area account for a significant share of program associate sponsorships, given their federally funded grant structures and familiarity with H-1B and similar visa processes.
Which visa types are most common for program associate roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program associates in Massachusetts, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as public health, international development, or social policy. Some university-affiliated positions may also support J-1 exchange visitor status. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may explore the TN visa if the role fits an eligible USMCA occupation category.
How to find program associate visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters program associate job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status and state, making it straightforward to identify Massachusetts employers actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through general job postings, you can search Migrate Mate for program associate roles in Massachusetts and see which organizations have a track record of sponsoring international candidates in this position type, particularly in Boston's nonprofit and research sectors.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most program associate sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the large majority of program associate sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by its concentration of research hospitals, universities, and international nonprofits. Cambridge is a secondary hub, given the presence of Harvard, MIT, and affiliated research organizations. Worcester has emerging activity through UMass Medical School and community health networks, while Springfield occasionally surfaces roles through regional nonprofits and government-affiliated programs.
Are there state-specific considerations for program associates seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a strong university and research hospital pipeline that regularly recruits internationally trained professionals into program associate roles, particularly in public health, global development, and policy research. Employers in these sectors tend to have in-house legal teams or established relationships with immigration counsel, which can make the sponsorship process more structured. Roles tied to federally funded grants often have defined prevailing wage obligations under Department of Labor guidelines, which employers must meet regardless of internal pay bands.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program associate jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
