Which companies sponsor visas for program associates in Utah?
Employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship history for program associate roles in Utah include the University of Utah, Intermountain Health, and larger nonprofits and research organizations based in Salt Lake City. Federal contractors operating in Utah also sponsor these roles when the position meets specialty occupation requirements. Sponsorship history varies year to year, so reviewing recent Labor Condition Application filings through the Department of Labor is the most reliable way to verify current patterns.
Which visa types are most common for program associate roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program associates in Utah, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Some roles at universities or research institutions may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B petitions, bypassing the annual lottery. International candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT may also work in these roles before transitioning to employer-sponsored status.
Which cities in Utah have the most program associate sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the majority of program associate sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, universities, and nonprofit organizations. Provo and Orem also generate openings, particularly through Brigham Young University affiliates and the growing tech sector in Utah Valley. Ogden has a smaller but present share of roles tied to Weber State University and regional nonprofit programs.
How to find program associate visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for program associate roles in Utah without sifting through postings that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Salt Lake City, Provo, or other Utah markets. This is more efficient than general job searches, which rarely surface sponsorship details at the listing level.
Are there state-specific factors that affect program associate visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's large university system, including the University of Utah and Utah State University, creates a meaningful pipeline for international candidates through campus hiring and research programs. Many program associate roles in the state are tied to federally funded grants or nonprofit missions, which can influence how employers approach sponsorship decisions. Cap-exempt institutions are particularly relevant here, as they can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program associate jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
