Which companies in Kentucky sponsor visas for creative roles?
Louisville-based employers are the most active sponsors for creative positions in Kentucky. Humana has sponsored international talent in marketing and UX design. Brown-Forman, the spirits company behind Jack Daniel's and Woodford Reserve, hires brand and creative professionals. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville also sponsor creatives in communications and digital media roles, particularly for specialized or senior-level positions.
Which visa types are most common for creative jobs in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa for creative roles in Kentucky where the position requires a specific bachelor's degree, such as graphic design, UX, or marketing. The O-1A or O-1B is an alternative for individuals with documented extraordinary ability or achievement in the arts. Creative professionals with portfolio-driven careers, awards, or significant industry recognition may find the O-1B pathway worth exploring with an immigration attorney.
How to find creative visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find creative visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky, with listings filtered by role and state so you're not sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Focus your search on Louisville and Lexington, where the highest concentration of sponsoring employers operates. Creative roles in bourbon industry marketing, healthcare UX, and university communications appear most frequently among Kentucky-based sponsors on the platform.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most creative visa sponsorship jobs?
Louisville is Kentucky's primary hub for sponsored creative roles, driven by its concentration of large employers in healthcare, spirits, and financial services, all of which maintain in-house creative and marketing teams. Lexington is a secondary market, with the University of Kentucky and a growing tech and professional services sector supporting design and content roles. Smaller markets like Bowling Green see occasional sponsorships but far less consistently.
Are there any Kentucky-specific considerations for creative visa sponsorship?
Kentucky does not have state-level immigration programs, so sponsorship follows standard federal H-1B or O-1 processes. One practical consideration is that prevailing wage requirements for creative roles are assessed by the Department of Labor based on the specific metro area, so Louisville and Lexington roles typically carry different wage floors. University of Kentucky and University of Louisville can also serve as cap-exempt H-1B sponsors, which matters for applicants who missed the annual lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored creative jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
