Which companies in Kentucky sponsor visas for data science analysts?
Louisville-based Humana is among the most active H-1B sponsors for data and analytics roles in Kentucky, given its scale as a major health insurance company. Kindred Healthcare, LG&E and KU Energy, and Tempur Sealy International have also appeared in Department of Labor disclosure data for sponsored positions. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville sponsor data roles in research and institutional analytics contexts.
Which visa types are most common for data science analyst roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for data science analyst positions in Kentucky, as these roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like statistics, computer science, or mathematics. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can work for a sponsoring employer before transitioning to H-1B status. The O-1A is an alternative for applicants with documented exceptional achievement in data science.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most data science analyst sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the majority of data science analyst sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of healthcare, insurance, and logistics employers. Lexington is the second most active city, supported by the University of Kentucky's research enterprise and a growing life sciences sector. Frankfort and Northern Kentucky, near the Cincinnati metro, occasionally surface sponsorship opportunities through government contractors and regional financial services firms.
How to find data science analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles offering visa sponsorship, making it practical to search for data science analyst positions in Kentucky without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results by location, filtering for Louisville or Lexington where sponsorship activity is highest. Because Kentucky's sponsorship market is smaller than coastal tech hubs, checking Migrate Mate consistently and setting up alerts for new Kentucky postings is a reliable approach.
Are there any Kentucky-specific considerations for data science analyst visa sponsorship?
Kentucky's data science hiring is heavily concentrated in healthcare and insurance, so candidates with domain experience in those industries are well positioned with employers like Humana. The state's universities, particularly the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville, serve as pipelines for international students entering local analytics roles, making campus recruiting relevant for F-1 holders. Prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions apply regardless of state, so employer offers must meet Department of Labor wage levels for the Louisville or Lexington metropolitan areas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science analyst jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
