Which companies sponsor visas for logistics roles in Kentucky?
UPS, which operates a major global air hub at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, has a track record of sponsoring visa petitions for logistics and supply chain professionals. Amazon's fulfillment network across Kentucky and companies like Tempur Sealy and Kindred Healthcare also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for logistics-related sponsorships. Sponsorship availability varies by role, seniority, and employer hiring needs at any given time.
Which visa types are most common for logistics roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for logistics professionals in Kentucky, typically covering roles like supply chain analyst, logistics operations manager, and transportation planner that require a relevant bachelor's degree. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying logistics and industrial engineering roles. The L-1 visa applies to professionals transferring within a multinational company, which is relevant for global freight and distribution firms with Kentucky operations.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most logistics sponsorship jobs?
Louisville is by far the dominant city for logistics sponsorship opportunities in Kentucky, driven by its position as a global air cargo hub and home to UPS Worldport, the largest automated package handling facility in the world. Lexington offers supply chain roles tied to manufacturing and healthcare distribution. Northern Kentucky, particularly around Erlanger and Covington, benefits from proximity to Cincinnati and its dense freight and warehousing activity.
How to find logistics visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can search logistics roles in Kentucky without sifting through positions that won't support your immigration needs. The platform covers supply chain, transportation, and operations management roles across Louisville, Lexington, and northern Kentucky. Filtering by role type and location on Migrate Mate helps you identify which employers are actively hiring internationally sponsored candidates in Kentucky's logistics market.
Are there state-specific factors that affect logistics visa sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky's logistics hiring is heavily influenced by its freight infrastructure, meaning many sponsorship opportunities are concentrated in operations and supply chain management rather than purely analytical or software-driven roles. Employers sponsoring H-1B petitions must pay the prevailing wage for the specific occupation and location as determined by the Department of Labor, which for Kentucky logistics roles is calculated on a region-by-region basis. University of Louisville and University of Kentucky supply chain programs also create a local pipeline that some employers draw from before sponsoring international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
