Which companies sponsor visas for radiologic technologists in Kentucky?
The most active sponsors for radiologic technologist roles in Kentucky are large hospital systems and academic medical centers. UK HealthCare (University of Kentucky), Norton Healthcare, Baptist Health, Jewish Hospital, and Owensboro Health have histories of sponsoring foreign-trained imaging staff. Regional critical access hospitals also sponsor when the local talent pipeline is thin, particularly for specialized modalities like MRI and CT.
Which visa types are most common for radiologic technologist roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for radiologic technologists in Kentucky, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specialized degree in radiologic technology or a related field. The EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa is also frequently used for permanent sponsorship. Some internationally trained technologists enter through the TN visa if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals, provided the role meets TN criteria.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most radiologic technologist sponsorship jobs?
Louisville and Lexington account for the largest share of radiologic technologist sponsorship opportunities in Kentucky. Louisville's concentration of hospital networks, including Norton Healthcare and Baptist Health, drives consistent demand. Lexington benefits from UK HealthCare and its affiliated clinics. Bowling Green, Owensboro, and Covington also have active hospital employers, and rural areas sometimes offer sponsorship specifically to fill imaging staffing gaps.
How to find radiologic technologist visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for radiologic technologist roles in Kentucky to see employers actively open to sponsoring. This is more efficient than sorting through general listings, since Migrate Mate focuses on positions where sponsorship is a real possibility, saving time for candidates on OPT, H-1B, or EB-3 pathways.
What state-specific factors affect radiologic technologist visa sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky requires radiologic technologists to hold state licensure through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, and ARRT certification is the standard pathway to meet this requirement. Employers initiating H-1B sponsorship must file a Labor Condition Application confirming the offered wage meets the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific county and modality. Rural hospital shortage areas in eastern Kentucky can qualify for J-1 visa waiver programs, which is relevant for some internationally trained technologists.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored radiologic technologist jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
