ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on generators and ancillary equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults in the field and shop.
- Disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble engine components, alternators, and control panels.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts inventories.
- Coordinate with customers to schedule service calls and provide technical support.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Calibrate and test generators to verify performance specifications.
- Assist in training junior technicians and apprentices on service procedures.
- Manage and transport tools, parts, and equipment to field locations.
- Provide feedback to engineering and product development on recurring issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical/electrical engineering preferred.
- 2+ years of experience servicing portable power generators or similar equipment.
- Proficiency with diesel engines, alternators, and electronic control systems.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel to remote sites.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
