INTRODUCTION

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Verifying the performance of Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) systems using commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS) tools and/or software tools available from the TBU.
- Testing, repairing, and maintaining various types of electronic equipment.
- Safeguarding sensitive systems data, contact information, passwords, combinations, keys, etc.
- Providing support to TBU officials with training development and research development efforts, as needed.
- Communicating with the designated Technical Business Unit (TBU) and/or Contractor personnel when arriving at a field site and when completing work activities.
- Completing all required paperwork and documentation.
- Obtaining security clearances and badges as required.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
- At least one (1) year of hands-on installation and technical servicing experience for various electronic equipment.
- Travel to various work locations statewide is required.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team to meet our customers' needs.
- Ability to follow and enforce safety procedures.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to various work sites statewide as necessary to support company and customer needs. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided for business-related use. An individual must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
