Which companies sponsor visas for product architects in Maryland?
Maryland's largest visa-sponsoring employers for product architect roles include Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and SAIC, all concentrated in the D.C. metro corridor. Mid-sized technology consultancies and cybersecurity firms in Columbia and Bethesda also sponsor regularly. Federal contractors in particular hire product architects to lead platform design on government technology programs, which drives consistent sponsorship demand in this state.
Which visa types are most common for product architect roles in Maryland?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for product architects in Maryland, given that the role typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa. Candidates with multinational employer transfers may be eligible for the L-1A or L-1B. O-1A sponsorship is less common but possible for candidates with recognized industry achievements.
Which cities in Maryland have the most product architect sponsorship jobs?
Bethesda, Rockville, and Columbia account for the highest concentration of product architect sponsorship jobs in Maryland, largely driven by federal contractors and technology firms based there. Annapolis Junction is also notable given its proximity to the NSA campus, which anchors significant cybersecurity and systems architecture hiring. Baltimore has a growing technology sector with university-adjacent employers, including organizations connected to Johns Hopkins University, adding further sponsorship opportunities.
How to find product architect visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search product architect positions in Maryland without sorting through employers unlikely to sponsor. The platform surfaces roles from federal contractors, cybersecurity firms, and technology companies concentrated in Bethesda, Columbia, and Rockville. Filtering by role title and state on Migrate Mate helps international candidates identify which Maryland employers are actively hiring and sponsoring.
What should product architects know about Maryland's sponsorship market before applying?
Many of Maryland's largest technology employers are federal contractors, which adds a layer of complexity: some roles require security clearances that are currently only available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents, which may limit sponsorship eligibility for certain positions. Product architects should confirm clearance requirements before applying. Roles at commercial technology companies, health IT firms, and software vendors in the state generally do not carry clearance restrictions and represent stronger sponsorship prospects for international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product architect jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
