Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for product architects?
Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in Kansas City is one of the more active sponsors for technical architecture roles in Kansas, given its large product engineering workforce. Garmin, headquartered in Olathe, and T-Mobile's legacy Sprint operations have also filed H-1B petitions for senior technical roles. Larger employers with established HR and legal infrastructure are generally the most consistent sponsors for product architect positions.
Which visa types are most common for product architect roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product architect roles in Kansas, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension may also work for a sponsoring employer while an H-1B petition is pending. The O-1A is an option for candidates with documented exceptional achievements in product or technical architecture.
Which cities in Kansas have the most product architect sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, including Overland Park, Olathe, and Lenexa on the Kansas side, accounts for the majority of product architect sponsorship activity in the state. This corridor hosts the headquarters of Garmin, the Oracle Health campus, and a concentration of fintech and healthtech employers. Wichita is a secondary market with sporadic demand, primarily from aerospace and industrial software companies like Textron Aviation.
How to find product architect visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search product architect roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that won't consider international candidates. The platform focuses on employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas, which is particularly useful for targeting the Kansas City tech corridor. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate narrows the list to employers actively open to sponsorship for this title.
Are there any state-specific considerations for product architects pursuing sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not have state-level visa or work authorization programs, so sponsorship follows federal H-1B and DOL prevailing wage rules. Product architect roles in the Kansas City metro are benchmarked against wage data for the Kansas City metropolitan statistical area, which typically reflects a lower prevailing wage than coastal tech hubs. This can make sponsorship more straightforward for employers to justify, though approval still depends on meeting all federal specialty occupation requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product architect jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
