Which companies in Minnesota sponsor visas for product architects?
Large Twin Cities employers are the most active sponsors for product architect roles. UnitedHealth Group, Target, U.S. Bank, Cargill, 3M, and Optum regularly file H-1B petitions for senior technical and architecture positions. Mid-size software and healthcare IT firms in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro also sponsor, particularly those with established international hiring programs and legal teams equipped to handle petition filing.
Which visa types are most common for product architect roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa for product architect roles in Minnesota, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through multinational employers, or those with O-1 classification based on extraordinary ability, are also placed in these roles on occasion.
How to find product architect visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse product architect openings in Minnesota without manually screening each employer. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly even among large companies, using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate saves considerable time. Filtering by the Twin Cities metro on Migrate Mate surfaces the highest concentration of relevant openings in the state.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most product architect sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the overwhelming majority of product architect sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota. The broader metro includes major employer campuses in Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, and Bloomington, where UnitedHealth Group, Optum, and several financial services firms are headquartered. Rochester has a smaller but notable presence driven by Mayo Clinic's technology division, which hires for senior architecture roles and has an established international hiring track record.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for product architects seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are set by the Department of Labor based on the Minneapolis-Saint Paul-Bloomington metropolitan area, which generally reflects a competitive market for senior technical roles. The University of Minnesota and local engineering programs contribute a pipeline of talent, but many employers actively recruit internationally for product architect experience. Minnesota's large healthcare IT sector means architecture roles often require familiarity with regulated data environments, which can factor into how employers scope and title these positions for LCA filings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product architect jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
