Which companies sponsor visas for compliance roles in Massachusetts?
Financial institutions and life sciences companies are the most active sponsors for compliance roles in Massachusetts. State Street, Fidelity Investments, Liberty Mutual, and Biogen have established histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for compliance-related positions. Large regional banks, insurance carriers, and pharmaceutical companies headquartered in the greater Boston area also file LCAs regularly for roles in regulatory affairs, legal compliance, and risk management.
Which visa types are most common for compliance roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for compliance professionals in Massachusetts, as most roles require at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as finance, law, accounting, or a regulated science. The L-1B is an option for intracompany transferees with specialized knowledge. Candidates with advanced credentials in highly specialized areas may also explore the O-1A, though it requires demonstrated extraordinary ability.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most compliance sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the majority of compliance sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, particularly within the financial district and the Seaport innovation district. Cambridge is a secondary hub, driven by its concentration of biotech and pharmaceutical firms with active regulatory and compliance functions. Waltham, Burlington, and Marlborough also host sizeable life sciences campuses where compliance teams are frequently staffed.
How to find compliance visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it easier to focus your search on compliance positions in Massachusetts without sifting through listings that exclude international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings at financial services firms, biotech companies, and healthcare organizations across Boston, Cambridge, and the surrounding metro area.
Are there state-specific factors that affect compliance sponsorship hiring in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a deep university pipeline through institutions like Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, and Boston University, which regularly produce compliance, finance, and legal graduates who enter the local job market on OPT. Employers in the state are accustomed to sponsoring international candidates from these pipelines. The state's concentration of federally regulated industries, including banking, insurance, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, also means compliance roles frequently meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
