Which companies sponsor visas for new business development roles in Massachusetts?
Large employers with consistent sponsorship track records in Massachusetts include Thermo Fisher Scientific, HubSpot, Wayfair, Biogen, and MathWorks. Boston-area enterprise software and life sciences firms tend to file Labor Condition Applications for business development roles more frequently than smaller companies. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data is a reliable way to identify which employers have actively sponsored similar positions.
Which visa types are most common for new business development roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used visa for new business development roles when the position requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher, such as business administration, marketing, or a related field. The L-1B can apply when a candidate transfers within a multinational company with specialized knowledge. Canadians and Mexicans may also qualify under the TN visa in management consultant or economist categories, depending on the role's duties.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most new business development sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of new business development sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts, driven by dense concentrations of biotech, fintech, and SaaS companies. Waltham and Lexington along the Route 128 corridor are also significant hubs, particularly for life sciences and enterprise technology firms. Worcester is a secondary market with growing activity in healthcare and manufacturing sectors.
How to find new business development visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters new business development roles in Massachusetts by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sifting through listings from employers unlikely to sponsor. Because business development positions can vary widely in how they're classified, Migrate Mate's search helps surface roles under related titles like business development manager, partnerships associate, or sales development representative that are open to visa candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for new business development visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts is home to several major research universities, including MIT, Harvard, and Boston University, which creates a strong pipeline of international candidates and means many employers in the state are familiar with OPT and H-1B processes. The state's concentration in regulated industries like biotech and financial services means business development roles often require specific technical knowledge, which can strengthen the specialty occupation case for H-1B eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored new business development jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
