Which companies sponsor visas for nurse managers in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, and UMass Memorial Medical Center are among the most active sponsors for nurse manager roles in the state. These large academic medical systems regularly file H-1B and EB-3 petitions for experienced nursing leadership, particularly in specialty units such as oncology, ICU, and surgical services.
Which visa types are most common for nurse manager roles in Massachusetts?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for nurse managers in Massachusetts, as registered nursing is designated a Schedule A occupation, allowing employers to skip the PERM labor market test. The H-1B nonimmigrant visa is also used, though it requires a bachelor's degree in nursing and is subject to the annual lottery. Employers with cap-exempt status, such as teaching hospitals affiliated with Harvard or UMass, can file H-1B petitions year-round outside the lottery.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most nurse manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the largest share of nurse manager sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by its concentration of academic medical centers and specialty hospitals. Worcester is the second-largest market, anchored by UMass Memorial Health and Saint Vincent Hospital. Springfield, Lowell, and Burlington also have active hiring at regional medical centers and large community health systems, offering opportunities outside the competitive Boston market.
How to find nurse manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for this search, filtering nurse manager roles in Massachusetts by visa sponsorship eligibility so you are not sorting through listings that do not apply to international candidates. Because nurse manager positions require demonstrated leadership experience and often a BSN or MSN, filtering by sponsorship upfront saves significant time. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from hospital systems and health networks across Boston, Worcester, and the broader state.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for nurse managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts follows federal prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions, but the state's high cost of living means nurse manager compensation at Boston-area hospitals is generally positioned at or above Wage Level III under Department of Labor guidelines, which affects the wage floor employers must certify. Massachusetts also has strong union presence in major hospitals, so some nurse manager roles may carry specific credentialing expectations, including ANCC certification and Massachusetts RN licensure, before sponsorship paperwork can proceed.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nurse manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
