Which companies sponsor visas for nurse managers in Pennsylvania?
UPMC, Penn Medicine, Jefferson Health, Temple Health, and Geisinger Health System are among Pennsylvania's largest health networks and have histories of sponsoring work visas for clinical and nursing leadership roles. Tower Health and WellSpan Health also hire nurse managers across central and southeastern Pennsylvania. Sponsorship availability varies by facility, specialty, and current staffing needs, so confirming directly with each employer's HR or recruitment team is important.
Which visa types are most common for nurse manager roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B and EB-3 (employment-based immigrant visa) are the most common pathways for international nurse managers in Pennsylvania. Nurse manager roles generally qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in nursing. The EB-3 is frequently used for permanent sponsorship. Some employers also support TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nurses meeting the relevant credentials under USMCA.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most nurse manager sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh concentrate the largest share of nurse manager sponsorship opportunities, driven by their major academic medical centers and hospital networks. Harrisburg, Allentown, and Hershey also see consistent demand, particularly from health systems like Penn State Health and Lehigh Valley Health Network. Rural and community hospitals across the state occasionally sponsor as well, especially in areas experiencing persistent nursing shortages.
How to find nurse manager visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Pennsylvania nurse manager roles where employers are actively open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job boards that don't surface sponsorship details, Migrate Mate lets you focus your search on health systems and hospitals in Pennsylvania that have indicated sponsorship willingness for nursing leadership positions.
Are there any state-specific considerations for nurse managers seeking sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania requires nurse managers to hold an active RN license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, and employers must verify licensure before sponsorship can proceed. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply based on the specific county and role level, so offers in Philadelphia typically reflect higher wage thresholds than rural areas. Pennsylvania's large academic medical center presence also means some roles are tied to teaching hospital environments, which can affect sponsorship structures.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nurse manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
