Which companies sponsor visas for nurse managers in Ohio?
Ohio's largest health systems are the most consistent sponsors for nurse manager roles. Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, Nationwide Children's Hospital, UC Health, and University Hospitals have established immigration support programs and a track record of sponsoring clinical leadership positions. Smaller regional hospital networks occasionally sponsor as well, though their capacity and legal infrastructure for sponsorship varies considerably by facility.
Which visa types are most common for nurse manager roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for nurse managers, since the role typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and increasingly a master's degree, meeting the specialty occupation threshold. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is also used, particularly by health systems willing to support long-term permanent residence pathways. Candidates with prior U.S. clinical experience on OPT or a prior employer's H-1B are generally better positioned to secure sponsorship.
Which cities in Ohio have the most nurse manager sponsorship jobs?
Cleveland and Columbus account for the largest share of nurse manager sponsorship activity in Ohio. Cleveland's medical corridor, anchored by Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals, drives significant demand. Columbus is home to OhioHealth and Nationwide Children's Hospital, both active in clinical leadership hiring. Cincinnati also has a notable presence through UC Health and TriHealth. Smaller metros like Dayton and Toledo offer occasional openings but at lower volume.
How to find nurse manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find nurse manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio, with listings filtered specifically for roles where employers are open to sponsoring international candidates. Searching by state and role on Migrate Mate removes the guesswork of identifying which Ohio health systems actively sponsor, saving time compared to reviewing individual hospital career portals manually.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for nurse manager visa sponsorship candidates?
Ohio requires registered nurses to hold a valid Ohio RN license, and international candidates must ensure NCLEX passage and credential evaluation through an approved body before an employer can proceed with sponsorship. Large academic medical centers affiliated with institutions like The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center often have more structured onboarding for internationally trained nurses. The state's high concentration of Level I trauma centers also means demand for experienced nurse managers with specialty unit backgrounds, particularly ICU and perioperative settings, remains consistent.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nurse manager jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
