Search Sales Jobs in MassachusettsSales Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for sales roles in Massachusetts?
Technology and life sciences companies lead visa sponsorship for sales roles in Massachusetts. Employers like HubSpot, Salesforce, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Biogen, and Wayfair have filed Labor Condition Applications for sales positions in the state. Enterprise software, medical devices, and SaaS companies tend to sponsor most consistently, as their sales roles often require specialized technical or scientific knowledge that supports a specialty occupation designation.
Which visa types are most common for sales roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for sponsored sales roles in Massachusetts, particularly for positions like solutions engineer, account executive in technical fields, or sales operations analyst that require a relevant bachelor's degree. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa for qualifying roles. Sales roles that lack a degree requirement in a specific field can face more difficulty securing sponsorship.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most sales sponsorship jobs?
Boston is by far the largest market for sponsored sales roles in Massachusetts, driven by its concentration of technology, biotech, and financial services firms. Cambridge hosts many life sciences and software companies with active sales teams. Waltham and Burlington form a secondary tech corridor along Route 128, with employers like Akamai and NetSuite maintaining sales operations there. Worcester is a smaller but growing market, particularly in healthcare technology sales.
How to find sales visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters sales jobs in Massachusetts specifically to employers with a history of visa sponsorship, saving you the time of screening postings manually. Search by role type, such as account executive, business development representative, or sales engineer, to narrow results to positions that align with your background and visa eligibility. Because sponsorship availability changes frequently, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you the most current opportunities in the Massachusetts market.
Are there any state-specific considerations for sales visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a strong university pipeline, with graduates from MIT, Boston University, Northeastern, and Boston College frequently entering sales roles at local employers, which means competition for sponsored positions is high. The state's life sciences and SaaS sectors tend to favor sales roles that blend technical expertise with client management, making a field-relevant degree important for H-1B eligibility. Employers in Massachusetts must comply with federal prevailing wage requirements when filing Labor Condition Applications for sponsored sales hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
