Which companies sponsor visas for service engineers in Massachusetts?
Employers with established visa sponsorship programs for service engineers in Massachusetts include Raytheon Technologies, Boston Scientific, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Analog Devices, and Watts Water Technologies. Defense contractors and medical device manufacturers along the Route 128 corridor are particularly active sponsors, as these industries rely on specialized technical talent that often requires international recruitment.
Which visa types are most common for service engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for service engineers in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Employers in defense and aerospace may also sponsor L-1B visas for intracompany transferees with specialized knowledge. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles.

How to find service engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?

You can browse by location and role type to focus on the Route 128 corridor and Greater Boston, where sponsorship activity for service engineers is highest.
Are there any state-specific considerations for service engineers seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a high cost of living, which influences Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations for H-1B petitions filed in the state. Employers must certify that the offered wage meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for the specific service engineer role in that geographic area. The state's strong university pipeline from MIT, Northeastern, and UMass Amherst also means employers are experienced with international hiring processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
