Which companies sponsor visas for service engineers in New Jersey?
New Jersey's industrial base includes several consistent visa sponsors for service engineer roles. Pharmaceutical and life sciences companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Becton Dickinson, and Merck have major NJ campuses and regularly sponsor H-1B visa petitions for engineers. Defense and industrial automation firms including Siemens, Honeywell, and L3Harris also operate in the state and have sponsored service engineer positions in prior years, according to DOL disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for service engineer roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for service engineers in New Jersey, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering field. Candidates already holding TN visa status (Canadian or Mexican nationals) or L-1 visa transfers from multinational employers are also pathways seen in this industry. Australian nationals may explore the E-3 visa, which operates outside the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most service engineer sponsorship jobs?
Edison, Newark, and Parsippany consistently appear among the highest-activity areas for service engineer sponsorship in New Jersey, reflecting the concentration of manufacturing, life sciences, and technology employers along the Route 1 corridor and the northern suburbs. Bridgewater and Florham Park also appear frequently in DOL Labor Condition Application filings, driven by the pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals sectors headquartered in those areas.
How to find service engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and it lets you filter by role and state to surface service engineer positions in New Jersey. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in generic job postings, using a platform that pre-filters for sponsoring employers saves significant time. Migrate Mate draws on employer sponsorship history to surface relevant openings for service engineers across NJ.
Are there state-specific considerations for service engineers pursuing sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey's prevailing wage requirements under DOL rules apply to any H-1B or E-3 petition, and the state's high cost of living means prevailing wages for service engineers in NJ metros are often set at elevated levels compared to national averages. The state's density of regulated industries, including pharmaceuticals and defense, also means employers frequently require specific licensing or clearances, which can affect both hiring timelines and petition complexity.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service engineer jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
