Which companies in Massachusetts sponsor visas for service operations managers?
Healthcare systems including Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, financial institutions like Fidelity Investments and State Street, and technology firms such as Wayfair and HubSpot have documented H-1B sponsorship histories for operations management roles. Life sciences companies concentrated in Cambridge, including Biogen and Moderna, also regularly sponsor international professionals in service operations and delivery functions.
Which visa types are most common for service operations manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for service operations managers in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT may transition through employer-sponsored H-1B petitions. The L-1A is relevant for managers transferring intracompany from a foreign affiliate into a Massachusetts-based position.
How to find service operations manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to identify service operations manager roles in Massachusetts where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can focus on verified sponsorship opportunities in Boston, Cambridge, and Waltham, where demand for operations leadership with international backgrounds is concentrated across healthcare, fintech, and technology sectors.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most service operations manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of sponsored service operations manager positions, driven by the concentration of healthcare systems, financial services firms, and technology companies. Waltham and Burlington along Route 128 are secondary hubs, particularly in software and life sciences. Worcester is growing as a healthcare and logistics operations center, and Springfield draws some demand from regional financial and insurance employers.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for service operations manager sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers must pay H-1B workers the prevailing wage for the specific occupational category and metro area, determined by Department of Labor wage surveys for the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metropolitan region. The state's high concentration of cap-exempt employers, including Harvard, MIT, and affiliated hospitals, means some positions bypass the annual H-1B lottery entirely. Operations managers in healthcare and higher education should specifically explore roles at these institutions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service operations manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
