INTRODUCTION
Flagship Pioneering is a biotechnology company that invents and builds platform companies that change the world. We bring together the greatest scientific minds with entrepreneurial company builders and assemble the capital to allow them to take courageous leaps. Those big leaps in human health and sustainability exponentially accelerate scientific progress in areas ranging from cancer detection and treatment to nature-positive agriculture.
What sets Flagship apart is our ability to advance biotechnology by uniting life science innovation, company creation, and capital investment under one roof in a way that is largely without precedent. Our scientific founders, entrepreneurial leaders, and professional capital managers are each aligned around an institutionalized process that enables us to innovate and transform for the benefit of people and planet.
Many of the companies Flagship has founded have addressed humanity's most urgent challenges: vaccinating billions of people against COVID-19, curing intractable diseases, improving human health, preempting illness, and feeding the world by improving the resiliency and sustainability of agriculture.
Flagship has been recognized twice on FORTUNE's "Change the World" list, an annual ranking of companies that have made a positive social and environmental impact through activities that are part of their core business strategies, and has been twice named to Fast Company's annual list of the World's Most Innovative Companies.

Which companies sponsor visas for strategic business development roles in Massachusetts?
Life sciences and technology employers in Massachusetts are among the most active sponsors for strategic business development roles. Companies like Biogen, Moderna, HubSpot, Wayfair, and Fidelity Investments have consistent international hiring patterns and established legal infrastructure to support H-1B and other work visa petitions. Consulting firms with Boston offices, including McKinsey and Bain, also sponsor for senior business development positions.
Which visa types are most common for strategic business development roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategic business development roles in Massachusetts, typically requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, economics, or a related field and a qualifying specialty occupation classification. Candidates with extraordinary ability may qualify for an O-1. Intracompany transferees at multinational firms with Massachusetts offices may be eligible for the L-1B visa for specialized knowledge workers.
How to find strategic business development visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find strategic business development visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts, with listings filtered specifically for employers who sponsor work visas. The platform surfaces roles across Boston's life sciences corridor, Cambridge's technology cluster, and the broader Route 128 area, so you can focus your applications on companies that have demonstrated sponsorship willingness rather than cold-applying and hoping.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most strategic business development sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest concentration of sponsored strategic business development roles in Massachusetts, driven by the Seaport District's technology companies and Kendall Square's biotech density. Waltham and Burlington along the Route 128 corridor are also significant hubs, hosting regional headquarters for companies in software, medical devices, and enterprise services that frequently hire for business development positions.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for strategic business development visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Boston-Cambridge-Nashua metropolitan area, which reflects the region's higher cost of living. The concentration of research universities including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern creates a strong local pipeline, meaning sponsored candidates are often competing alongside candidates with existing work authorization. Roles tied to federally funded life sciences research may also involve additional compliance considerations for sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategic business development jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
