Which companies sponsor visas for strategic business development roles in Wisconsin?
Several large Wisconsin employers have established track records of H-1B sponsorship for business development positions. Fiserv in Milwaukee, Northwestern Mutual, Oshkosh Corporation, and Johnson Controls have historically filed LCA applications for business-focused roles. Epic Systems in Verona sponsors international workers across corporate functions as well. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case, so direct outreach to recruiters at these organizations is advisable.
Which visa types are most common for strategic business development roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategic business development positions in Wisconsin, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field and qualify as specialty occupations. The L-1B and L-1A are also relevant for candidates transferring within a multinational company into a Wisconsin-based development role. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business-related categories.
How to find strategic business development visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find strategic business development visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin, as the platform filters specifically for roles where employers are open to sponsoring work visas. Rather than sorting through general job listings, you can browse Wisconsin-specific openings in business development where sponsorship is already confirmed, covering employers across Milwaukee, Madison, and other major hiring hubs in the state.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most strategic business development sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for sponsored business development roles, driven by its concentration of financial services, manufacturing, and professional services firms. Madison follows closely, anchored by Epic Systems, university-affiliated organizations, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Appleton offer opportunities through manufacturing and logistics companies, though the volume of international sponsorships there is smaller than in the two major metros.
Are there any state-specific considerations for strategic business development roles in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin business development roles often intersect with manufacturing, fintech, and health IT, which shapes the degree and experience requirements employers expect. Employers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for sponsored positions, and Wisconsin's prevailing wages for business development titles vary by metro area. Candidates from universities like UW-Madison or Marquette University sometimes have an advantage, as local alumni networks can facilitate introductions to employers already familiar with sponsoring international graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategic business development jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
