About the Company
Our client is a specialized Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) that is undergoing a critical NetSuite ERP implementation. One that requires both technical depth and governance rigor to execute correctly. As the organization continues to scale its operational infrastructure, every system and process is being built with intention and precision. This role sits at the center of that effort.
The Opportunity
This is not a standard IT project role. This is a seat at the table during one of the most consequential operational moments in this organization's history. As the IT Business Relationship Manager supporting the NetSuite implementation, you will serve as the connective tissue between the Finance leadership team and the external professional services team executing the deployment. You will be equal parts strategic partner, governance enforcer, and implementation driver — ensuring that the system is built right, the controls are documented properly, and the business is protected every step of the way. For the right candidate, this engagement has a multiyear roadmap. This is a long runway, not a short sprint.
What You'll Own
Implementation Partnership & Business Alignment:
- Serve as the primary IT liaison between the Finance team and the professional services implementation partner deploying NetSuite
- Translate business requirements from Finance and Operations stakeholders into documented functional and technical specifications
- Facilitate working sessions, decision logs, and cross-functional alignment to keep the implementation on track and on scope
- Ensure the Finance team's voice is embedded in every phase of the deployment — from requirements through go-live
Governance, Compliance & Controls:
- Own IT General Controls (ITGC) documentation, testing, and sign-off throughout the implementation lifecycle
- Ensure change control processes are established, enforced, and audit-ready from day one
- Support SOX 404(b) compliance requirements, including control design, walkthroughs, and evidence management
- Partner with Finance and Compliance stakeholders to ensure the NetSuite environment meets all regulatory and internal audit standards
Project Management & Execution:
- Manage project timelines, milestone tracking, risk identification, and stakeholder communications
- Coordinate between internal teams and the external implementation partner to resolve blockers and dependencies
- Maintain a clear and current view of open items, decisions required, and upcoming deliverables
- Bring structure to a complex, multi-stakeholder environment without losing speed
Testing & Validation:
- Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test script development, execution oversight, and defect tracking
- Ensure testing documentation meets the governance and audit standards required for a SOX-compliant ERP environment
- Support data migration validation, integration testing, and cutover planning as the go-live date approaches
What We're Looking For
Experience Profile:
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading NetSuite ERP implementations in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment — CMO, contract services, or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on familiarity with ITGC frameworks, SOX 404(b) requirements, and change control processes in the context of ERP deployments
- Proven ability to build and document business requirements, functional specifications, and testing protocols
- Strong project management instincts — you don't need someone to build your workplan for you
- Experience partnering with Finance teams as a business-facing IT professional, not just a technical implementer
The Right Fit:
- A natural translator — equally comfortable in a governance conversation with an auditor and a working session with a Finance VP
- Detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture; you track the milestones and the meaning behind them
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment where the org chart is still being built
- Collaborative by default, decisive when it counts
- CMO or contract manufacturing industry exposure is a meaningful differentiator here — understanding how a CMO operates financially and operationally will accelerate your impact from day one
Logistics & Structure
- Engagement Type: Contract to Hire (6 months consulting then offer for FTE)
- Location: Remote with monthly travel to Brighton, MI (expenses covered)
- Hours: Must be available and working Eastern Standard Time hours
- Duration: Initial contract scope with strong potential for a multiyear engagement based on performance and organizational roadmap
- Rate: Competitive; commensurate with experience
Why This One Is Worth Your Attention
Most ERP implementation roles ask you to execute someone else's plan. This one asks you to help build it with a seat at the table, a motivated Finance team that wants a real partner, and an organization that is growing in a direction that makes the work matter. If you've done this before, you know how rare it is to walk into a NetSuite implementation with clear executive support, a defined governance mandate, and real potential for longevity. This is that engagement.

Which companies sponsor visas for partnerships leads in Michigan?
Michigan's largest visa sponsors for partnerships roles include Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, and Rocket Companies in Detroit. Ann Arbor-based firms like Duo Security (now part of Cisco) and StockX have also sponsored partnerships talent. Automotive suppliers such as Aptiv and BorgWarner round out the pool, particularly for roles bridging technology and business development.
Which visa types are most common for partnerships lead roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa for partnerships leads in Michigan, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT are well-positioned to transition. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated exceptional achievement in business development or strategic partnerships.
Which cities in Michigan have the most partnerships lead sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its metro suburbs, including Dearborn, Southfield, and Auburn Hills, account for the majority of partnerships lead sponsorship jobs in Michigan, driven by automotive OEMs and their tech subsidiaries. Ann Arbor is a strong secondary market, particularly for SaaS, mobility, and university-adjacent startups. Grand Rapids has a smaller but active cluster in manufacturing technology and healthcare.
How to find partnerships lead visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles and lets you filter partnerships lead positions by state, including Michigan. Rather than sifting through general job boards that don't surface sponsorship information clearly, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active H-1B and other sponsorship histories, making your search considerably more targeted for this specific role type.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for partnerships leads seeking visa sponsorship?
Michigan's partnerships lead market is shaped heavily by the automotive and mobility industries, so candidates with experience in OEM vendor ecosystems, fleet technology, or manufacturing supply chains are particularly competitive. The University of Michigan and Michigan State University feed a strong international talent pipeline into Ann Arbor and East Lansing employers. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metro area, which differ between Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Grand Rapids.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored partnerships lead jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
