Which companies sponsor visas for radiologic technologists in Michigan?
The largest sponsors in Michigan are major health systems: Henry Ford Health (Detroit), Beaumont Health (Royal Oak and surrounding Metro Detroit), Michigan Medicine (Ann Arbor), and Spectrum Health (Grand Rapids, now Corewell Health). These organizations have established HR and legal infrastructure for H-1B and EB-3 sponsorship. Smaller community hospitals and outpatient imaging chains sponsor less frequently, though it does occur for hard-to-fill shifts or specialized modalities.
Which visa types are most common for radiologic technologist roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for radiologic technologists in Michigan, provided the employer confirms the role meets specialty occupation criteria. The EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa is also widely used, particularly by large health systems sponsoring permanent residency. Some candidates enter on TN status if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals, as radiologic technologists are a listed TN occupation under USMCA.
Which cities in Michigan have the most radiologic technologist sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its Metro Detroit suburbs, including Royal Oak, Dearborn, and Troy, have the highest concentration of sponsoring employers due to the density of Henry Ford Health and Corewell Health (formerly Beaumont) facilities. Ann Arbor is significant because of Michigan Medicine and its affiliated clinics. Grand Rapids is a growing market with Corewell Health's west Michigan network. Lansing and Flint have smaller but active hospital markets with occasional sponsorship opportunities.
How to find radiologic technologist visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by state and role to see radiologic technologist positions in Michigan where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship. This saves time compared to sorting through general job postings with no sponsorship clarity. Because Michigan's sponsoring employers are concentrated in large health systems, Migrate Mate's filtered results help you focus your applications on the facilities most likely to support your visa.
Are there state-specific licensing or credential requirements that affect visa sponsorship for radiologic technologists in Michigan?
Yes. Michigan requires radiologic technologists to hold an active state license issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Most employers also require ARRT certification. Visa sponsorship timelines must account for credential verification and state licensure approval, which can take several weeks after arriving in the U.S. Employers initiating H-1B or EB-3 sponsorship will typically factor this into their onboarding process, but candidates should confirm licensing eligibility before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored radiologic technologist jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
