Which companies sponsor visas for analytics engineers in Minnesota?
Target, UnitedHealth Group, Medtronic, U.S. Bancorp, and Best Buy are among the larger Minnesota employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories in data and analytics roles. Mid-size companies in the health tech and fintech sectors around Minneapolis also file LCAs for analytics engineer positions. Sponsorship activity is most concentrated in the Twin Cities metro.
Which visa types are most common for analytics engineer roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa for analytics engineers in Minnesota, given that the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extensions often transition to H-1B sponsorship through Minnesota employers. L-1B transfers are also used when candidates relocate from multinational companies.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most analytics engineer sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul together account for the large majority of analytics engineer sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota. The broader Twin Cities metro, including suburbs like Plymouth, Eden Prairie, and Minnetonka, hosts many corporate headquarters in healthcare, retail, and financial services. Rochester has a smaller but notable presence through Mayo Clinic, which hires for healthcare data roles.
How to find analytics engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse analytics engineer roles in Minnesota without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces openings from employers in the Twin Cities and beyond that have active sponsorship histories. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually vetting individual job postings.
Are there state-specific factors analytics engineers should know when pursuing sponsorship in Minnesota?
Minnesota's strong university pipeline, particularly from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, means employers are familiar with hiring international graduates into data roles. The state's concentration of Fortune 500 companies in healthcare and retail creates recurring analytics engineering demand. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the role and location, which applies to all sponsored positions in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored analytics engineer jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
