Which companies in Minnesota sponsor visas for personal assistant roles?
Large employers with substantial administrative staffs are the most consistent sponsors. In Minnesota, that includes corporations headquartered in the Twin Cities such as Target, UnitedHealth Group, Ameriprise Financial, Xcel Energy, and 3M. These companies have established HR and immigration infrastructure, making them more likely to support H-1B visa or other work visa petitions for qualified personal and executive assistant candidates.
Which visa types are most common for personal assistant jobs in Minnesota?
Personal assistant roles can qualify for H-1B sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as business administration or communications, and the job duties reflect a specialty occupation. Some candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3 visa, while Canadian and Mexican nationals may consider the TN visa under the administrative category. Eligibility depends heavily on how the employer defines the role.
How to find personal assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find personal assistant roles in Minnesota where employers are open to visa sponsorship. You can filter specifically by state and role type to see current openings from Minnesota-based companies. Because sponsorship depends on how each employer classifies the position, Migrate Mate's filters help you focus on employers who have sponsored similar administrative roles before.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most personal assistant sponsorship opportunities?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul together form the primary market for sponsored personal assistant roles in Minnesota. The concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major healthcare systems like Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and financial services firms in the Twin Cities metro creates the majority of demand. Rochester is a secondary market worth watching given Mayo Clinic's size and international workforce.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for personal assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's economy is anchored by healthcare, financial services, and retail, which shapes how personal assistant roles are defined and classified by employers. Roles tied closely to healthcare executives at systems like Allina Health or M Health Fairview may have clearer degree requirements, which strengthens H-1B eligibility. The state's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions are set at the federal level through the Department of Labor's LCA process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored personal assistant jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
