Which companies sponsor visas for personal assistants in Texas?
Large corporations with significant Texas footprints are the most active sponsors, including energy giants headquartered in Houston, major tech employers in Austin, and healthcare systems across Dallas-Fort Worth. Companies like ExxonMobil, Dell Technologies, and Baylor Scott and White Health have histories of sponsoring work visas for administrative and executive support roles when candidates meet specialty occupation criteria.
Which visa types are most common for personal assistant roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for personal assistants in Texas, but it requires demonstrating the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific bachelor's degree is normally required for the position. The TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying categories. O-1 visas may apply for individuals with extraordinary ability in relevant fields.
Which cities in Texas have the most personal assistant sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads due to its density of energy and healthcare headquarters, where senior executives routinely employ dedicated personal assistants. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 companies across finance, logistics, and technology. Austin's growing tech sector has expanded demand as well, particularly among high-growth startups and established firms that have relocated there.
How to find personal assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find personal assistant roles in Texas where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically for sponsorship-willing employers, saving significant time compared to manually screening job listings. Focusing your search on Houston, Dallas, and Austin, and targeting large corporations rather than small businesses, improves your chances of finding employers with established immigration processes.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for personal assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons used in H-1B Labor Condition Applications, since the Department of Labor bases wage requirements on local market data. The state's large economy means prevailing wages in Houston and Austin can differ significantly from those in smaller metros. Candidates with experience supporting executives in energy, healthcare, or technology sectors will find their backgrounds align well with Texas employer demand.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored personal assistant jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
