Which companies in Minnesota sponsor visas for program managers?
UnitedHealth Group, Medtronic, Target, 3M, and Cargill are among the Minnesota employers with documented histories of sponsoring H-1B visas for program manager roles. Mayo Clinic also sponsors for program management positions within its operations. Large enterprise employers tend to have dedicated immigration teams and established sponsorship processes, making them more predictable options for international candidates than smaller firms.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program managers in Minnesota, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or information systems. L-1B and L-1A visas are another pathway for candidates transferring within a multinational company. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying management or engineering-adjacent roles.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters program manager job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, saving you from sorting through postings that don't apply to international candidates. For Minnesota, filtering by the Twin Cities metro on Migrate Mate surfaces roles at healthcare, retail, and technology employers that have sponsorship track records. Checking employer-specific career pages alongside Migrate Mate gives you the broadest view of active openings.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the large majority of program manager sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota. The broader Twin Cities metro includes suburban hubs like Bloomington, Eden Prairie, and Minnetonka, where UnitedHealth Group, Medtronic, and other major employers are headquartered. Rochester has a smaller but notable concentration of program manager roles connected to Mayo Clinic's operations and its affiliated technology initiatives.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's program manager hiring is heavily concentrated in healthcare and medical device sectors, so candidates with domain experience in those industries are more competitive with the state's largest sponsors. The University of Minnesota and other regional institutions supply strong local talent, meaning international candidates generally need differentiated experience to stand out. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply statewide and are benchmarked to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro for most roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
