Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in Oklahoma?
Energy companies including Devon Energy, Williams Companies, and ONEOK in Oklahoma City and Tulsa have filed H-1B petitions for program management roles. Defense and aerospace contractors such as American Airlines Technical Operations in Tulsa, along with large health systems like OU Health and INTEGRIS Health, also sponsor program managers. Staffing and consulting firms with Oklahoma operations are additional sources of sponsorship in this role category.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program managers in Oklahoma, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information technology, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement. L-1B and L-1A visas are also used when program managers transfer from a foreign affiliate into an Oklahoma office. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management categories.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City concentrates the largest share of program manager sponsorship activity, driven by energy sector headquarters, state government contractors, and health systems. Tulsa is the second major hub, with aerospace, manufacturing, and logistics companies regularly hiring program managers. Norman and Stillwater see smaller volumes, often tied to university-affiliated research programs and technology vendors serving those campuses.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search program manager roles in Oklahoma without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces openings across Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and other Oklahoma markets in energy, defense, healthcare, and technology. Filtering by role type and location on Migrate Mate lets you focus on employers actively willing to file petitions for program management candidates.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for program managers?
Oklahoma's energy sector drives significant demand for program managers with engineering or operations backgrounds, and companies in that industry are experienced H-1B sponsors. The state's lower cost of living relative to coastal markets means prevailing wage requirements for program manager positions are set at Oklahoma-specific rates, which affects employer cost calculations for sponsorship. University pipelines from the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University also supply candidates employers are familiar with sponsoring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
