Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in Wyoming?
The most active visa sponsors for program managers in Wyoming tend to be large energy companies like PacifiCorp and Wyoming's coal and natural gas operators, federal contractors working on defense and infrastructure projects near Cheyenne, and the University of Wyoming. Government agencies and engineering firms supporting the state's energy transition have also filed H-1B visa petitions for program management roles in recent years.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Wyoming?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program managers in Wyoming, given that program management qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, engineering, or computer science. Australian citizens may also pursue the E-3 visa. Candidates with multinational employer transfers may qualify for the L-1A, particularly at large energy or engineering firms with global operations.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Cheyenne and Casper account for the majority of program manager sponsorship activity in Wyoming. Cheyenne hosts state government agencies, federal operations, and technology infrastructure companies, while Casper is the center of Wyoming's oil and gas industry. Laramie sees some activity through the University of Wyoming, particularly for research program managers and grant-funded project roles.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters program manager roles in Wyoming by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're not sorting through listings that won't support your visa. Because Wyoming's sponsoring employers are concentrated in energy and government contracting, filtering by industry on Migrate Mate helps narrow your search to organizations with an established history of filing H-1B and other work visa petitions.
What state-specific factors should program managers know about working in Wyoming?
Wyoming has no state income tax, which affects total compensation comparisons when evaluating offers. Program manager roles tied to energy extraction, pipeline infrastructure, or federal land management often require familiarity with regulatory compliance, which can strengthen a sponsorship case by demonstrating specialized knowledge. The University of Wyoming is also a notable pipeline for program management roles, particularly in research administration and federally funded initiatives.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
