Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in Rhode Island?
CVS Health, headquartered in Woonsocket, is one of Rhode Island's largest H-1B sponsors and regularly hires program managers across healthcare technology and operations. Other notable sponsors include Lifespan Health System, Brown University, Amica Mutual Insurance, and Infosys, which maintains a significant presence in the state. Defense contractors operating near Quonset Point also sponsor program managers with technical backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Rhode Island?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program managers in Rhode Island, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or computer science. Some candidates also enter through the L-1A intracompany transferee route if moving within a multinational employer. TN visas apply to qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals in management roles.
Which cities in Rhode Island have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Providence is by far the most active city for program manager sponsorship, driven by its concentration of hospital networks, universities, and financial services firms. Woonsocket sees demand from CVS Health's corporate operations, while Warwick and Cranston attract roles tied to insurance and manufacturing companies. The greater Providence metro area accounts for the majority of H-1B program manager filings recorded in Department of Labor disclosure data for Rhode Island.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Rhode Island?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters program manager roles in Rhode Island by visa sponsorship availability, saving you time compared to searching general job boards manually. You can browse active openings from employers that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Focusing on Providence-area employers in healthcare, insurance, and higher education will give you the strongest pipeline of sponsorship-open program manager opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program managers seeking visa sponsorship in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island's relatively small labor market means fewer total openings than neighboring Massachusetts, but competition for sponsorship-eligible roles can also be less intense. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific program manager role and location, which is tied to the Providence-Warwick metro area wage data. Brown University and the University of Rhode Island create a graduate pipeline that some employers factor into their sponsorship decisions for research-adjacent program management roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Rhode Island?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
