Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in Texas?
Several large employers in Texas have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for program manager roles. Dell Technologies and Texas Instruments sponsor heavily in the Austin area, while Amazon, Google, and Meta have significant operations in Austin and Dallas. Boeing and Lockheed Martin sponsor program managers in the Dallas-Fort Worth corridor. Large healthcare systems like HCA Healthcare and tech consultancies also file regularly for this role type.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program managers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like engineering, business, or computer science. L-1B and L-1A visas are also used when candidates transfer within a multinational company. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the USMCA, though the role classification requires careful documentation.
Which cities in Texas have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads for tech-focused program manager roles, driven by major campuses from Dell, Apple, Amazon, and a growing startup ecosystem. Dallas-Fort Worth is strong for defense, finance, and enterprise software, with employers like AT&T, Lockheed Martin, and JPMorgan Chase. Houston concentrates program manager sponsorship in energy, healthcare, and aerospace, particularly around firms like Shell, ExxonMobil, and NASA's Johnson Space Center.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that offer visa sponsorship, so you can browse program manager positions across Texas without manually screening each posting. The platform covers openings in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and other metros, and surfaces employers with documented sponsorship activity. For program managers, filtering by industry, such as tech, defense, or healthcare, helps narrow results to sectors most active in Texas sponsorship hiring.
Are there state-specific considerations for program managers seeking sponsorship in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since employers still must meet Department of Labor wage requirements based on local cost-of-labor data for each metro area. Austin's rapid growth has pushed prevailing wages upward in recent years. Texas also has strong university pipelines through UT Austin, Texas A&M, and Rice University, which feed program manager talent into employers already accustomed to sponsoring international graduates in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
