Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in Delaware?
The most active sponsors for program manager roles in Delaware are concentrated in financial services and life sciences. JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Barclays have significant operations in Wilmington and have historically filed H-1B petitions for program and project management roles. DuPont and Incyte Corporation sponsor in the chemical and pharmaceutical space. Delaware's status as a corporate legal home for many large firms also means consulting-adjacent program manager roles appear regularly.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program managers in Delaware, particularly for roles at banks and life sciences companies that require a degree in business, computer science, or a related field. L-1B and L-1A visas are also used when candidates transfer from an employer's overseas office into a Delaware-based program management function. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the management consultant category, depending on role classification.
Which cities in Delaware have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the large majority of program manager sponsorship activity in Delaware. It is home to the state's biggest financial institutions and corporate headquarters, making it the primary hub for sponsored roles. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, has some presence through technology and research-adjacent program management positions. Dover sees limited sponsorship activity and is mostly limited to state government contractors.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find program manager roles in Delaware where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically for international candidates, so you are not sorting through listings from employers that only hire U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Given Delaware's employer concentration in Wilmington, filtering by city alongside role and visa type narrows results quickly and surfaces the most relevant opportunities.
Are there any Delaware-specific considerations for program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Delaware's small geographic footprint means the sponsoring employer pool is narrower than in larger states, so program managers should also consider roles just across the border in Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, where many Delaware-headquartered companies maintain offices. Because financial services dominate Delaware's economy, program managers with backgrounds in financial technology, compliance programs, or credit card operations tend to align best with local sponsors. The University of Delaware also supplies a pipeline of OPT candidates competing for the same roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
