Which companies sponsor visas for sales representatives in Minnesota?
Medtronic, Cargill, and 3M are among the Minnesota employers with histories of sponsoring work visas for sales roles, particularly in medical devices and industrial products. Enterprise software companies in the Minneapolis area, including those in the growing tech corridor along the I-394 corridor, also appear in H-1B disclosure data as sponsors for sales and account management positions.
Which visa types are most common for sales representative roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales representatives in Minnesota when the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, typically requiring a degree in business, marketing, or a technical field directly related to the product being sold. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under the 'Management Consultant' or relevant USMCA category. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3 visa in qualifying sales roles.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most sales representative sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the overwhelming majority of visa-sponsored sales representative positions in Minnesota. The broader Twin Cities metro, including Minnetonka and Plymouth where Medtronic and other medical device companies are headquartered, is the primary hub. Rochester sees some activity tied to the Mayo Clinic supply chain, and Bloomington hosts regional offices for several national employers that occasionally sponsor international sales hires.
How to find sales representative visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, so you can search for sales representative roles in Minnesota without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers in the Twin Cities and beyond who have sponsored work visas before, which is a practical starting point for targeting your applications toward companies already familiar with the sponsorship process.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for sales representatives seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's medical device industry is a notable pipeline for international sales professionals, given the concentration of companies like Medtronic and Boston Scientific in the Twin Cities. Employers sponsoring H-1B visas for sales roles must demonstrate the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, which is more straightforward when the product requires technical expertise. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide and are determined by the Department of Labor based on job title and location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales representative jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
