Which companies sponsor visas for software product managers in Minnesota?
UnitedHealth Group, Target, Best Buy, and 3M are among the most active H-1B visa sponsors for product management roles in Minnesota based on Department of Labor disclosure data. Financial technology firms like U.S. Bank and Ameriprise Financial also file regularly. IBM's Rochester operations and several health-tech startups in the Minneapolis metro round out the employer base for this role.
Which visa types are most common for software product manager roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for software product managers in Minnesota, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Canadians and Mexicans may pursue TN visa status under the USMCA. Australians holding an E-3 visa are also eligible, provided the employer files a Labor Condition Application.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most software product manager sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and its surrounding suburbs, including Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Bloomington, account for the large majority of software product manager sponsorship activity in Minnesota. Saint Paul adds additional opportunities, particularly in government technology and healthcare IT. Rochester is a smaller but notable market driven by IBM and the Mayo Clinic's growing digital and AI product teams.
How to find software product manager visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa-sponsored roles. You can filter by state to see software product manager openings in Minnesota from employers with a documented history of H-1B and other work visa filings. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing job postings that may not disclose sponsorship availability upfront.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for software product manager visa sponsorship candidates?
Minnesota's strong concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters means many software product manager roles sit within large enterprises that have established immigration programs and in-house or retained immigration counsel. The University of Minnesota and local graduate programs in business and computer science also feed talent pipelines that some employers draw from when evaluating sponsorship, particularly for candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software product manager jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
