- Collaborate with platform electrical architects and systems engineers to translate vehicle-level electrical strategies into detailed, manufacturable designs.
- Manage electrical system design release activities and deadlines, prioritizing tasks effectively across multiple concurrent programs.
- Develop and support electrical system variants to enable different feature levels and product configurations across vehicle platforms.
- Ensure electrical system designs meet manufacturability requirements by working closely with manufacturing teams and supporting Design-For-Manufacturing activities.
- Engage with validation and field support teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issues to resolution.
- Coordinate with project teams to manage electrical system timelines and support vehicle bill-of-materials development.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop new electrical designs, processes, and components.
- Support prototype vehicle builds and provides hands-on assistance as needed.
- Provide mechanical design support related to the electrical system, including brackets, interfaces, bolted joints, and related features.
Desired Competencies
- Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.
- Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.
- Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an accredited Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or Mechatronics).
- Minimum of 1 year of design experience in a related engineering field.
- Proficiency with mechanical CAD tools; experience with electrical CAD tools is preferred.
- Experience with new product design and development, including complex system integration.
- Understanding of electrical fundamentals and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience routing cables or flexible components in a vehicle or equipment environment preferred.
- Ability to manage detail and complexity across multiple programs while meeting release timelines.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work with domestic and international suppliers and technology partners.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
COMPENSATION
- The starting pay range for Minnesota is $76,000 to $110,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.

Which technology companies sponsor TN visas in Minnesota?
Several large Minnesota employers have established track records of sponsoring TN visas for technology roles. UnitedHealth Group and its Optum technology division, Best Buy, Target's technology and digital teams, and Cargill's IT organization are among the most active. Minnesota also has a growing number of mid-sized software and medtech firms in the Twin Cities that hire Canadian and Mexican technology professionals under TN status.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most technology TN sponsorship jobs?
The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area accounts for the majority of technology TN sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota. Minneapolis and Saint Paul both host significant concentrations of enterprise technology employers, financial services firms with large IT departments, and healthcare technology companies. Bloomington, Eden Prairie, and Minnetonka, all located within the broader Twin Cities metro, also have notable technology employer presence worth targeting in a job search.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility in technology is limited to specific USMCA-listed occupations. Computer systems analysts qualify directly under the TN category and represent the most common technology role approved. Software engineers, IT project managers, database administrators, and network engineers can qualify when the employer structures the position as a systems analyst role with a qualifying degree requirement. Roles requiring only general IT skills without a specific degree field are harder to support under TN.
How do I find technology TN sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for professionals who need visa sponsorship, including TN visa holders and applicants. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface technology TN sponsorship jobs in Minnesota directly. This saves significant time compared to manually screening general job postings, since Migrate Mate focuses on employers that are open to sponsoring work visas for qualified candidates.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in technology?
Minnesota's technology hiring is heavily concentrated in healthcare IT, financial services software, and retail technology, reflecting the state's major industry sectors. Employers in these fields tend to be larger, more experienced organizations that understand TN sponsorship requirements. One practical consideration: Minnesota employers in regulated industries like health technology may have longer internal HR approval processes before extending a sponsored offer, so candidates should account for additional lead time compared to pure software startups.
