Tips for Finding TN Sponsorship Jobs in Minnesota
Target Fortune 500 headquarters in the Twin Cities
Minneapolis-Saint Paul is home to companies like UnitedHealth Group, Target, and 3M, all of which have established international hiring pipelines. Large multinationals are far more likely to have HR teams familiar with TN sponsorship than smaller regional employers.
Focus on Minnesota's medical device and healthcare corridor
Minnesota has one of the highest concentrations of medical device companies in the country. Engineers, scientists, and healthcare professionals in roles like biomedical engineer or pharmacist have a clear path to TN eligibility at employers throughout the Minneapolis metro.
Look beyond Minneapolis to mid-sized Minnesota employers
Rochester's Mayo Clinic ecosystem, Duluth's engineering sector, and Saint Cloud's manufacturing base all employ TN-eligible professionals. Outstate Minnesota employers often face less competition for qualified candidates and can move quickly on sponsorship decisions.
Search for TN-eligible roles filtered by Minnesota on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate lets you filter visa sponsorship jobs by state and visa type, so you can browse TN-eligible openings in Minnesota specifically. This saves significant time compared to manually screening job listings that don't disclose sponsorship status.
Use Minnesota's university research sector as an entry point
The University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic's research divisions frequently hire scientists, engineers, and computer professionals in roles that qualify under TN categories. Academic and research institutions are generally comfortable with work authorization processes.
Understand which TN categories match Minnesota's dominant industries
Minnesota employers cluster around healthcare, engineering, finance, and agriculture. Before applying, confirm your target role maps to a recognized TN profession category, such as engineer, accountant, scientist, or computer systems analyst, so conversations with employers start on solid footing.

Which industries in Minnesota sponsor the most TN visas?
Healthcare and medical devices lead TN visa sponsorship activity in Minnesota, driven by employers like UnitedHealth Group, Medtronic, and Mayo Clinic. Engineering, financial services, and information technology follow closely. Minnesota's agricultural science sector also generates TN sponsorship for roles like agronomist and food technologist, particularly outside the Twin Cities metro.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most TN sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis-Saint Paul accounts for the largest share of TN sponsorship jobs in Minnesota by a wide margin, given its concentration of Fortune 500 companies and large healthcare systems. Rochester is a strong secondary market, anchored by Mayo Clinic and related employers. Duluth and Saint Cloud have smaller but active markets in engineering and manufacturing.
What types of roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Minnesota?
Roles that appear frequently in Minnesota TN sponsorship contexts include software engineer, systems analyst, mechanical and electrical engineer, registered nurse, pharmacist, scientific roles in medical devices and agriculture, accountant, and management consultant. The role must match a designated TN profession and require at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional credential in a relevant field.
How do I find TN sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by Minnesota and TN visa type to see employers actively open to sponsoring TN workers, without sorting through listings that offer no work authorization. Beyond that, targeting employers with established international HR processes, including major healthcare systems and Fortune 500 companies in the Twin Cities, improves your odds significantly.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for TN sponsorship I should know about?
Minnesota has no state-level visa requirements, but a few practical factors matter. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport is a major port of entry where TN status is routinely processed at the border for Canadians. If you're a Mexican national, you'll apply at a U.S. consulate abroad. Minnesota's competitive healthcare market means some employers, particularly smaller clinics, may be less familiar with TN procedures than large health systems.
