The Director, Human Resources plans, leads, directs, develops, and coordinates the policies, activities and staff of the Human Resource (HR) Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition departments, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of organization mission and talent strategy. As a key member of the human resources leadership team, this role drives functional excellence by providing consultation, direction and coordination at a strategic level for retention strategies, talent management, talent acquisition, employee engagement and culture, performance management, leadership communication, and change management. This position directs the development and execution of effective recruitment and retention strategies and human resources initiatives that align with strategic goals. The Director provides assistance, interpretation, guidance, and consultation to leaders and employees on HR policies, guidelines, programs and practices, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates and maintains expert knowledge and leadership in human resources principles, practices and processes to stay current with evolving best in class business practices and industry trends
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with recommended best practices, as well as all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Partners closely with leaders and HR Business Partner team to ensure processes are streamlined and consistent, to drive performance management outcomes, optimize staff productivity, and positively impact business goals
- Works collaboratively with human resources leadership team to plan, design and implement initiatives that drive innovation, optimization, process improvement, and employee engagement and retention
- Develops and executes effective recruitment processes, procedures and programs that support organizational recruitment strategies; identifies and addresses recruitment challenges, implements effective sourcing strategies, and partners with Marketing team on the implementation of employment branding and social media strategies
- Creates, promotes and maintains an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and competitive advantage in support of the company's diversity and inclusion strategic plan
- Conducts research and analysis of trends to support the organization's short and long-range goals; Reviews and audits reports and metrics to measure the effectiveness of various HR initiatives; Oversees the preparation and maintenance of ongoing audits, reports and metrics for areas of responsibility

- Builds and leverages collaborative relationships at all levels to increase strategic influence and recommend HR best practices, new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives throughout the organization
- Counsels leaders regarding federal, state and local EEO and other personnel laws, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of laws, policies, procedures and precedence
- Collaborates with leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to talent acquisition and retention strategies, to meet current and long-range goals
- Provides strategic guidance to leaders to implement solutions for employee relations issues, trends and patterns
- Partners with stakeholders on workforce planning initiatives including staffing, quality of hires and workforce optimization, to ensure that staffing levels hold the right skills and capabilities to achieve business goals
- Leads and directs HR partnership model within assigned areas of responsibility; Utilizes consulting skills and change management techniques to elevate leadership competency

- Required: Ten (10) years of progressive human resources experience within the areas of employee relations or talent acquisition, including experience delivering strategies and solutions to drive change, with at least five years of demonstrated leadership experience with an emphasis on customer service and operational excellence.
