Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapy assistants in Mississippi?
Healthcare employers with documented H-1B and PERM sponsorship activity in Mississippi include Merit Health, Singing River Health System, and Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Long-term care operators and outpatient rehabilitation networks affiliated with larger national chains are also known to sponsor PTAs, particularly in areas where domestic candidate shortages are persistent.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapy assistant roles in Mississippi?
Physical therapy assistants in Mississippi most commonly come through the H-1B visa, which requires employer sponsorship and a qualifying associate's or bachelor's degree in physical therapy assisting. Some internationally trained PTAs also enter through EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship for skilled workers. Credential evaluation and Mississippi state licensure from the Mississippi Physical Therapy Association Board are required regardless of visa type.
Which cities in Mississippi have the most physical therapy assistant sponsorship jobs?
Jackson sees the highest concentration of PTA job postings given its density of hospital systems and outpatient clinics. Gulfport and Biloxi on the Gulf Coast are active markets, supported by Singing River Health System and Memorial Hospital. Hattiesburg also generates consistent demand through Forrest General Hospital and affiliated rehabilitation networks. Rural postings appear statewide due to Mississippi's underserved population distribution.
How to find physical therapy assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Mississippi?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa-sponsored roles in the U.S. You can filter by state and role to surface physical therapy assistant positions in Mississippi where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. This saves time compared to manually screening postings that don't clarify visa support, which is especially important when you're working against OPT or grace period deadlines.
Are there state-specific considerations for PTAs seeking visa sponsorship in Mississippi?
Mississippi requires PTAs to pass the NPTE-PTA exam and obtain licensure through the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy before practicing, regardless of where training occurred. International candidates must have their credentials evaluated for equivalency. Mississippi's rural healthcare shortage designation in many counties can work in a foreign-trained PTA's favor when employers are motivated to sponsor to fill persistent vacancies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapy assistant jobs in Mississippi?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
