Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapy assistants in Arizona?
Banner Health, Dignity Health, Encompass Health, and Select Medical are among the larger Arizona employers that have sponsored work visas for allied health professionals, including physical therapy assistants. Skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers operated by multi-state chains tend to sponsor more consistently than small independent clinics, as they have established HR infrastructure and experience navigating the immigration process.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapy assistant roles in Arizona?
The H-1B visa is one pathway, though physical therapy assistant roles must qualify as specialty occupations, which requires a documented degree requirement for the position. The EB-3 immigrant visa is another common route, particularly for internationally trained allied health workers, and often involves PERM labor certification. Some employers in Arizona also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals who qualify under USMCA professional categories.
Which cities in Arizona have the most physical therapy assistant sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and its surrounding suburbs, including Scottsdale, Mesa, and Tempe, account for the largest share of physical therapy assistant openings in Arizona due to the concentration of hospital systems, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, and long-term care facilities. Tucson is the second-largest market, with University of Arizona Health Network and several regional rehabilitation providers. Flagstaff and Prescott also have active healthcare sectors, though with fewer total openings.
How to find physical therapy assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa-sponsored roles, including physical therapy assistant positions in Arizona. You can filter by state and job category to surface employers who have indicated sponsorship availability. Because sponsorship-willing employers in allied health are not always easy to identify through general job searches, using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate saves significant time in the initial screening process.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for physical therapy assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Arizona requires physical therapy assistants to hold a state license through the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy, and employers will typically expect licensure or eligibility before extending a sponsorship offer. Internationally trained candidates should verify that their credentials meet Arizona's educational equivalency requirements. The state's large retiree population and year-round mild climate support high demand in outpatient orthopedic and geriatric rehabilitation settings, which are among the most active areas for hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapy assistant jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
