Overview:
This position may be filled as a level I or II based on additional experience and qualifications required.
Wealth Firm Operations is responsible for back and middle office processing for approximately $9 billion in assets under administration and multiple revenue lines. The purpose of this job is to manage and supervise all accounting functions arising from the applicable Wealth accounting platforms. This includes, but is not limited to, cash movement within all types of accounts under Wealth Firm Operations, revenue and fee collection, regulatory reporting, reconcilements and supporting data requests for budgeting and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and cross-train a team of associates to promote maximum productivity, engagement, succession planning and overall contribution to the strategic organizational goals.
- Ensure that proper procedures and controls of financial activities are in place and adhered to, including control of funds payment, receipt, sweep activities for the assurance that the client and house account cash positions and activity occur in a timely, accurate and complete manner, and that all cash position or activity exceptions are quickly researched, corrected or escalated to management.
- Manage all fee processing including the creation, modification and application of all fee types, fee rules, fee qualifiers, and fee packages on the applicable operating system(s). Monitor and oversee processes to ensure that fee packages are properly assigned to accounts or account groups. Monitor and test the accuracy of fee calculations, and proper posting to the client accounts and to the general ledger. Ensure any exceptions that may occur are discovered and resolved in a timely, complete, and accurate manner, or are quickly escalated to management. Support and communicate with all associates, auditors, and compliance officers with the understanding of fee methods and processes.
- Monitor and oversee all activities related to cash and asset/custody/house account reconcilements on a timely basis and ensure exceptions are escalated appropriately.
- Ensure appropriate calculations and escalate KRIs/KPIs as required.
- Work with Risk Management on an as needed basis for Compliance, Internal Audit and Regulator request for items within the purview of the role.
- Monitor and oversee all required regulatory reporting for Wealth Firm Operations.
- Support the Wealth Firm Operations unit along with its manager and the Wealth Management division in assigned financial reporting functions, and as requested for unit projects, or operational events.
- Continuously develop personal and supervised associate subject matter expertise to improve and strengthen processes and efficiencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR LEVEL II:
- All items listed in Wealth Accounting Officer I responsibilities.
- Ongoing assessment of cost allocations for Firm Operations to the remainder of Wealth and development of statistical data loads to the GL.
- Responsible for general ledger budget input in conjunction with the business unit managers for revenue general ledger accounts for Wealth related business units.
- Responsible for leading/participating in department and division level initiatives and projects as it relates to the accounting functions of Wealth Management.
- Responsible for consuming and implementing changes as a result of ongoing technology releases and updates from the applicable vendors.
- Responsible for ongoing reviews, enhancements, and changes to the applicable control framework for Wealth Accounting, including, but not limited to cash movement, reconcilements, and revenue collection.
- Responsible for identifying, enhancing, and monitoring of Key Risk/Performance indicators for Wealth Firm Operations as they relate to Wealth Accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred with eight or more years of experience in public accounting, financial services, or other controller type role.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, financial performance and profitability reporting practices and processes.
- Leadership competency for a staff of 2-5 associates.
- Time management principles to prioritize workload.
- Propensity to achieve high client service levels.
- Interpersonal and interdepartmental collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate previous project management experience.
- Research and analytical skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to make decisions and guide others to fulfill decision requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products i.e. Excel, Word, Vizio, etc. communications and document applications.
- SEI Wealth Platform experience preferred.

- Certified Securities Operations Professional (“CSOP”)
