JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Lead oversees the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability, production efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role drives preventive and total productive maintenance (PM/TPM), fosters continuous improvement, and maintains 5S across the facility while modeling leadership and accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide and support Maintenance Technicians in daily operations, ensuring adherence to standards. Participate in training and skill development.
- Enforce all regulations. Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive hazard prevention.
- Maintain clear communication between maintenance, production, and management. Encourage collaboration, feedback, and transparency.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical guidance.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement cost-effective improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Manage maintenance schedules and TPM programs to maximize uptime and resource utilization.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, take ownership of results, and ensure alignment.
PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and use of hand tools.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in a maintenance environment.
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk PanelView, and Fanuc robotics required.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience with skills in:
- Electrical troubleshooting (voltmeter, meg-ohmmeter)
- Welding (stick, TIG, MIG) and mechanical repair
- Reading schematics and working with PLC I/O and pneumatics
- Experience in a fast-paced, process-driven manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong communication, basic math, and documentation skills.
- Forklift certification and PPE compliance required (respirator, safety shoes, eyewear, hearing protection).
