Kforce has a client that is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO. Responsibilities:
- Performs implementation of software solutions to improve reliability and observability
- Familiar with patching and upgrading VMware environments
- Assist in monitoring and reporting utilizing Aria Tools (vRops, vRNI, vRLI, Log Insight)
- Performs technical implementations for our CaaS/PKS platform
- Experience with migrating workloads from on-prem/off-prem cloud
- Actively and consistently supports all cloud efforts to simplify and enhance customer experience
- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve system, software, network, and storage failures for a globally distributed cloud infrastructure
- Accountable to help define and drive out best practices for monitoring, security, and platform reliability
- Configure and deploy Kubernetes clusters, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG), and NSX-T components, such as logical switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
- Understanding of JSON files and how they are configured and applied
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and procedures for deployment, operation, and maintenance
- Monitor network performance, capacity, availability, and security using tools such as NSX-T
- Troubleshoot network issues, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions using standard protocols and tools such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP
- Design, deploy, and maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable network infrastructure based on Tanzu, Kubernetes, and VMware NSX-T
- Automate network provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using Ansible
- Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of network services and applications running on the infrastructure
- Monitor and troubleshoot network issues, performance bottlenecks, and security threats proactively
- Collaborate with other teams, such as DevOps, security, and infrastructure, to integrate and optimize network services and applications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of VMware System Administration experience
- 3+ years of Aria Tools (vROPs, Log Insight, vRNI)
- 3+ years of Cisco networking
- 3+ years of Firewall configuration management
- 3+ years of Load Balancer configuration management (AVI)
- 2+ years of TKGI Enterprise Pivotal Container Services
- 2+ years of VMware NSX-T
- Proven experience with the VMWare suite of products
- Proven experience with managing both physical and Virtual infrastructure
- Experienced with multiple operating systems (e.g. Windows and Linux)
- Hands-on experience in one or more of cloud computing services (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platforms, IBM, etc.)
- Familiar knowledge hands-on experience with a variety of cloud service models (e.g. Private, Public, Multi-Cloud)
- Familiar with AVI Load Balancer management and configuration
- Experience managing monitoring and alerting tools
- Familiar with containerized workloads (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift, TKGI)
- Experienced with firewalls, routing and load balancing
- Skilled in troubleshooting methodologies
- Must have excellent written and oral communications, including technical documents, and process documents
- Requires attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Experience managing small projects
- Self-starter, ability to manage tasks with little supervision
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability scripting in one or more languages (e.g. Python, Shell, PowerShell, Ansible or Perl)
- Ability to contribute independently as well as be a team player
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
