Which companies sponsor visas for occupational therapists in Montana?
The most active sponsors for occupational therapists in Montana are large regional health systems, including Billings Clinic, SCL Health (now Intermountain Health), St. Peter's Health in Helena, and Logan Health in Kalispell. These organizations regularly hire OTs across inpatient, outpatient, and rehabilitation settings and have established HR infrastructure to support H-1B and TN petitions for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for occupational therapist roles in Montana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for occupational therapists in Montana, as OT qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a master's degree. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa, which lists occupational therapy explicitly as an eligible profession. EB-3 immigrant visas are also used for permanent sponsorship by some Montana health systems willing to support longer-term immigration pathways.
Which cities in Montana have the most occupational therapist sponsorship jobs?
Billings is Montana's largest city and its healthcare hub, hosting the state's highest concentration of OT sponsorship opportunities through Billings Clinic and affiliated practices. Missoula follows, with Providence St. Patrick Hospital and University of Montana Health Services generating consistent demand. Great Falls and Helena also have active OT markets, particularly in hospital-based rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities.
How to find occupational therapist visa sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa-sponsored occupational therapist roles in Montana. You can filter listings by state and role to surface employers who have previously filed H-1B or TN petitions for OTs, saving significant research time. Because Montana's OT market skews toward hospital and rehabilitation settings, focusing your search on health system employers on Migrate Mate gives you the most relevant results.
Are there any state-specific considerations for occupational therapists seeking sponsorship in Montana?
Montana requires occupational therapists to hold a state license before practicing, and foreign-trained OTs must have their credentials evaluated by NBCOT and meet state board requirements through the Montana Board of Occupational Therapy Practice. Montana is a rural state, so many sponsoring employers are in smaller markets, which can affect both H-1B prevailing wage determinations and the overall volume of available sponsorship positions compared to larger metropolitan states.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored occupational therapist jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
