This position will primarily serve patients at our Parsons location, with occasional coverage at our Independence CORE location as needed.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to provide high-quality, individualized care that helps patients improve functional abilities, regain independence, and achieve their personal goals.
- Evaluate patients to identify physical, cognitive, and functional limitations that impact their ability to perform daily activities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, physician referrals, and established goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve strength, coordination, mobility, fine motor skills, and independence with daily activities.
- Monitor patient progress, reassess treatment goals, and modify care plans as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, equipment, and strategies to promote independence.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, patient safety practices, and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Assist with coverage at Independence CORE as needed to support patient care and departmental operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Current Kansas Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for licensure.
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
