Which companies sponsor visas for OTs in Montana?
The most active sponsors for occupational therapists in Montana include Billings Clinic, SCL Health (now Intermountain Health), St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, and Providence Health. Smaller critical access hospitals in rural counties also sponsor OTs when local hiring fails. Rehabilitation agencies and school districts have historically filed H-1B and EB-3 petitions for qualified international candidates filling persistent vacancies.
Which visa types are most common for OT roles in Montana?
Occupational therapy qualifies as a specialty occupation, making the H-1B the most common nonimmigrant visa for international OTs in Montana. The EB-3 employment-based green card is frequently used for permanent sponsorship, particularly by larger health systems. Some employers also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican OTs under USMCA, which has no lottery and allows faster entry.
Which cities in Montana have the most OT sponsorship jobs?
Billings is Montana's largest city and hosts the highest concentration of OT sponsorship opportunities, anchored by Billings Clinic and other regional health employers. Missoula and Great Falls follow, with hospital systems and outpatient rehab clinics regularly hiring. Rural areas including Bozeman and Kalispell also post OT openings, often with added incentives to attract candidates to underserved communities.
How to find ot visa sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find OT visa sponsorship jobs in Montana, with listings filtered specifically for employers willing to sponsor international candidates. Montana's rural healthcare shortages mean sponsoring employers are more motivated than in competitive metro markets, but confirming sponsorship willingness upfront matters. Migrate Mate lets you search by role and state so you can focus your applications on verified opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for OTs pursuing sponsorship in Montana?
Montana has a significant OT workforce shortage, particularly in rural and frontier areas, which increases employer willingness to sponsor. International OTs must obtain Montana state licensure through the Montana Board of Medical Examiners, which requires passing the NBCOT exam and credential verification. Employers filing H-1B petitions must also meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the specific county where the OT will work, which varies across the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ot jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
